Our collaborations have spread far and wide for the third Women on Wheels Led Ride, happening on September 7th, 2023, 5:30-7:30pm. Funded by Durham County Council, supported by Go Smarter Go Active, hosted by the beautiful National Trust site Crook Hall Gardens, led by the ever inspiring ride leaders Sara Bateman and Veerle Noben, this event will start with a short puncture-repair workshop followed by a bike safety check. Then, we will set off in the direction of Brasside Pond, on the recently improved Frankland Lane, which links Durham and Newton Hall. Frankland Lane is traffic free but we’ll share use with pedestrians and dog-walkers. It is an easy-going ride, with some easy hills at the start. The aim to enjoy ourselves, support each other, and make women feel more confident riding their bikes. The ride will have no set speed; we will go at a pace that suits everyone!

Opportunities for toilet breaks are at Crook Hall Gardens. If you plan on coming by car, free parking at Crook Halls Gardens will be free for our participants, and so will be entrance plus coffee and cake at the end!

What you will need: a roadworthy bike, a helmet, appropriate clothing, a spare inner tube, bike lights and water to keep you hydrated.
